BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team dropped their first match of the season to Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at the Roger Williams University Tennis Courts, 9-0.
In doubles play the Gulls used three 8-2 victories, to take an early 3-0 lead.
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) both took a set in their matches at No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles respectively, before eventually falling to their opponents.
The Gulls were able to take control, in the sweep. Holding four singles matches to straight set victories.
Roger Williams (11-1, 6-1 CCC) will face Wednesday, Oct. 12 in a Senior Day matchup against Emerson beginning at 3:30 pm. The Gulls with the win secured the No. 1 seed in the CCC Tournament, while the Hawks secured the No. 2 seed in the tournament. CCC Tournament play will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Winner of the No. 3 vs. No. 6 matchup on Oct. 18 will then travel to Roger Williams for a Thursday, Oct. 20 contest on the RWU Tennis Courts.
