WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University field hockey team picked up another Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory on Saturday, defeating Gordon 2-0 at the Brigham Complex.
 
The Hawks held Gordon without a shot, with Hannah Brazil (East Sandwich, Mass.) in the net.  Roger Williams also held a 6-2 edge in penalty corners, while putting nine shots on net.
 
After a scoreless opening 29 minutes, the Hawks broke through just before halftime when Brooklyn Cenatiempo (Trumbull, Conn.) put a ball into the scoring area for Grace Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.) that Rocheleau then put away with 31 seconds remaining in the half.
 
Cenatiempo then added another Roger Williams record to her collections, scoring a goal 50 seconds into the third quarter, off a pass from Chelsea King (Schenectady, N.Y.), giving her sole possession of the all-time points record with 79 points in her collegiate career.
 
Roger Williams (9-7, 2-3 CCC) will travel to Wheaton on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for a 7 pm tilt with the Lyons, before hosting Salve Regina on Friday, Oct. 28 at 4 pm on Bayside Field for Senior Day.  The Hawks and Seahawks are currently tied for fourth in the CCC standings.
