BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Roger Williams University men's cross country team took home their second straight CCC Championship on Saturday at the University of New England, with
Nathan Tassey (Whitman, Mass.) also taking home Runner and Rookie of the Year honors.
The Hawks cleared the rest of the field by 40 points, with Suffolk coming in with 82 points as the second-place finisher. Landing six runners on the All-Conference team, with six top 15 finishers.
Tassey took the top honors with a time of 25:58.8, finishing 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, while averaging a mile time of 5:13.6.
Alexander Kalber (Middletown, Conn.), with a personal best, finished third with a time of 26:39.2, just six tenths of a second behind the second-place finisher.
Trey Generali (Middlebury, Conn.) was then the third Hawk to cross the finish line, finishing in 11
th place, just four seconds outside the top-10, while setting a new personal best at 27:09.6 with
Luke Gillett (Wyoming, R.I.) finishing two spots, behind in 13
th, starting a stretch of three straight Hawk finishers.
Will Tainter-Gilbert (Sandy Hook, Conn.) came in 14
th setting his new personal best with a time of 27:27.0, and
Ethan Boivin (Tolland, Conn.) finished 15
th with a career best of 27:28.3 in an 8k.
Ryan Cotungo (Melrose, Mass.) finished 22
nd to round out scoring for the Hawks.

Sean Livingston was named CCC Coach of the Year, for his efforts guiding the Roger Williams cross country program.
Roger Williams will be in action on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y.
