Women’s Basketball: Hawks Fall to Beavers in Non-Conference Play

Box Score Babson Park, Mass. — The Roger Williams University women's basketball team fell to Babson on Saturday, 61-53.
 
The first basket for the Hawks was scored by Katie Galligan (Pembroke, Mass.). Moments later, the next points were scored by Kendi Barnard (Bedford, N.H.), assisted by Galligan. With under a minute left in the first quarter, Sophie Araneo (Branford, Conn.) made a 3-point jump shot, assisted by Galligan. Galligan would go on to score a total of 14 points for the Hawks.
 
At 2:10 left in the second quarter, Caroline Elie (Rockland, Mass.) landed two free throws to tie the game at 20-20, but the Beavers managed to pull ahead before the end of the half.
 
The Hawks started the second half strong, with Araneo sinking another 3-point shot. Play was neck and neck for the remainder of the game. Throughout the game Elie had a total of nine rebounds, two assists, and 12 points scored.
 
The Roger Williams women's basketball team (1-2, 0-0 CCC) will host UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at 7 p.m. and then Brandeis on Monday, Nov. 28th.
