Caroline Elie (Rockland, Mass.) would later hit a three-pointer as part of a 10-2 run for the Hawks to give them a 12-4 advantage. The Hawks led the rest of the quarter, but Suffolk did managed to cut the deficit to two by the end of the period (13-15).

DeAngelis and Gabriella DeComo (Portsmouth, R.I.) both scored early in the second to regain the lead for Suffolk. The Rams maintained their one-possession lead for most of the quarter until Katie Galligan (Pembroke, Mass.) hit a layup to put RWU up 23-21 with 3:44 left until halftime. However, Suffolk scored seven of the final nine points of the period to take a 28-25 lead into the break.

The early part of the third quarter saw both sides struggle to score, with layups by Karli Opalka (Southbury, Conn.) and Sam Mancinelli (Peabody, Mass.) the only points over the first four minutes of play. A basket by Sophie Araneo (Branford, Conn.) helped spark a 13-4 run to put RWU up 42-34 with 4:06 left. The Hawks would go into the final quarter leading 44-40.

RWU came out strong in the fourth quarter, using a 10-2 run to extend their lead to 12 with just over five minutes left. The Rams would not go quietly, pulling within four with two minutes to go. However, Suffolk would not come closer and RWU notched the victory.
