How It Happened
Salve Regina got off to a strong start in the game. After Mikey Spencer (Abington, Mass.) and Eli Harris (Falmouth, Mass.) traded baskets to open the contest, the Seahawks rolled off ten straight points over a three-minute stretch that put Salve up 12-2. Drew Hart (Cheshire, Conn.) ended the Seahawk with a layup, followed by a three-point play by Nate Lopes (Scituate, Mass.) to cut the deficit in half. However, the Hawk offense stalled over the next four minutes, allowing the Seahawks to extend their lead to 14 with 7:25 left in the half. Salve maintained their double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the period and went into halftime up 38-25.

In the second half, the Hawks allowed a layup on Salve's opening possession. Yet from there, RWU's offense woke up to bring the team back in the game. The Hawks got three consecutive treys by Harris, John Ah Kao (Dumont, N.J.), and EJ Nelson (Essex Junction, Vt.). After Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) sank a layup, the deficit was only four (36-40) with 16:09 left to play.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, the shots stopped falling over the next three minutes while Salve used a 10-2 run to build the lead back up to 12 with 12:24 left. The Seahawks kept the lead within double digits the rest of the way. Roger Williams' shooting struggles proved to be the team's downfall, as RWU shot 29.6 percent overall in the second half.
