How It Happened
An RBI groundout by M Loomis in the top of the first allowed S Reinert to score and put Alvernia up 1-0. However, a bases-loaded walk drawn by Emma MacLean (Newton, Mass.) in the bottom of the inning tied the game at one.

Alvernia regained the lead in the following inning, taking advantage of a misplayed ball at third. The Wolves would extend their score over RWU in the next two innings, adding one in the third and two in the fourth to go up 6-1.

An RBI double by Alex Burdick (Jewett City, Conn.) in the bottom of the fifth brought in Taylor Howell (Sandwich Mass.), but that would be all the Hawks could muster, as Alvernia added one more in the seventh to clinch the win.

In the second game, Julianna Beidler gave Marywood a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with a home run to left center. In the following inning, Jessica Hanley drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home Kristie Epler to make it 2-0 in favor of the Pacers.

In the fourth inning, a misplayed ball in center with the bases juiced allowed Epler and Emily Rose to come home and extend the Marywood lead to four.

Roger Williams finally managed to get on the board in the top of the fifth. Casey Uryga (Berlin, Conn.) brought in Maddie Predaris (Rye, N.H.) from third with a one-out sac fly to center. Sydney Provencal (Cumberland, R.I.) followed with an RBI single in the next at-bat to score MacLean, cutting the deficit to two.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, Marywood grabbed both runs back in the following inning, with Cait Becher and Lindsey Jason scoring off of a two-run double by Rose. Roger Williams wasn't able to get anything going the rest of the way, managing only two base runners over the final two innings.
