BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team shut out Lasell College in the opening quarter of play and never looked back, rolling to a 16-6 win Wednesday evening against the Lasers.

Roger Williams took control of the game early on.
Matt Halpin (Hanover, Mass.) connected with
Ryan Phillips (Hanover, Mass.) three minutes in for the first score of the game.
Jared Grier (Quincy, Mass.) added two more goals in the opening quarter to put RWU up 3-0 after one.
Noah Ravas (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) got in on the scoring action with two goals for RWU over the first seven minutes of play. James Anderson (Medway, Mass.) finally got Lasell on the board with a pair of goals with 6:22 left in the half. However,
Jack Kester (Londonderry, N.H.) was able to get one of those scores back with four minutes left to help send the Hawks into the half up 6-2.
RWU kicked off the third quarter with three unanswered goals to extend the lead to six. The end of the period saw a flurry of goals, as both teams traded a pair of scores in the final three minutes of play.
Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) would scoop a low goal into the net with two seconds left in the quarter for an 11-4 lead.
After a man-up goal by Landon Reyes (Westfield, Mass.), RWU answered with five straight tallies to put the game away. Grier finished the game with a career high nine points (4 G, 5 A), the most in a game by RWU since
Jude Marzec on February 26, 2020 against UMass-Dartmouth.
