How It Happened
Noah Ravas (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) kicked things off for Roger Williams, scoring two of the first three goals of the game to help give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. A Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) score with 1:57 left in the first quarter would be sandwiched between a pair of Warrior goals, including one in the closing seconds for a 3-3 game entering the second quarter.

Jared Grier (Quincy, Mass.) and Ryan Vendetti (Farmington, Conn.) opened the second with goals to put RWU up by two. However, Eastern Connecticut State scored the final three goals of the frame to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.

A flurry of goals marked the play for both teams in the third quarter. Roger Williams and Eastern Connecticut State combined for seven goals in the period, beginning with a score by Grier. ECSU added another tally before Brian Gazard (Ashland, Mass.) answered. After two more Warrior scores, AJ DaRin (Manlius, N.Y.) and Ryan Phillips (Hanover, Mass.) closed out the quarter with goals for a 9-9 score going into the fourth.

Grier gave RWU a 10-9 lead with a goal four minutes in before Quinn O'Connor notched back-to-back goals for a 11-10 lead. With 2:31 left, Grier put in the game-tying score to help send the game into overtime. After a scoreless opening OT period, Brycen Kennedy gave the Warriors the win with the go-ahead score less than a minute in.
