Riding the best start in program history, the Roger Williams University Baseball team skyrocketed up the polls as it was announced on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Hawks spiked to number-two in both the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) and New England Baseball Journal (NEBJ) regional rankings while also receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)/ D3Baseball.com national rankings.

RWU earned the votes by standing at a perfect 10-0 at the time of the poll and while they did sufferer their first defeat of the season, they nonetheless have more wins than any other team in New England. It is believed to be the first time the team has received votes in the national polls and while they found themselves in the regional ranks for much of 2021, they topped out at number-five.

"It is great to be recognized and be in both the national and regional rankings," Head Coach Kevin Kelley said. "It is a testament to our process and performance thus far this season. However, we try not to listen to outside noise. We are just focused on us and controlling the controllable. We go into every day and every game as a new day with a new 0-0 record and more opportunities for us to get better at doing the little things right!"

As a team, the Hawks are strewn throughout the national leaderboard in several major offensive and pitching categories. They currently stand in the top-50 in Runs Scored Per Game (11.9, 4^th), Strikeouts Per Nine (12.3, 7^th), Hits Allowed Per Nine (6.72, 8^th), OBP (.469, 10^th), Steals Per Game (3.20, T-12^th), Doubles per Game (2.60, T-38^th), Batting Average (.334, 40^th), ERA (3.65, 46^th), and WHIP (1.34, 50^th).
