How It Happened
Ryan Phillips (Hanover, Mass.) made his way around the Colonel defense for the first goal of the game. Matt Halpin (Hanover, Mass.) then scored off of a pass from Jack Kester (Londonderry, N.H.) at the 10:18 mark to make it 2-0 Roger Williams. A minute later, Halpin returned the favor, with Kester finding the back of the net for a 3-0 Hawk advantage and forcing a Colonel timeout. After the timeout, Grier added another score two minutes later, taking a pass from Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) in the middle and scoring one just under the legs of the keeper.

Curry put its first score on the board with three and a half minutes left in the opening quarter. After forcing a failed clear, Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.) logged an unassisted goal to pull Curry within three. Curry added one more goal in the final seconds of the quarter, Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.) found Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) on the right side of the goal for a score to make it 2-4 going into the second quarter.

Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) made it a one-goal game with 8:04 to go to the half, adding his first tally of the contest off a pass from Perfetuo. RWU had one more chance to score in the final minute, but Phillips was turned away by Curry keeper Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.).

In the third quarter, a misplayed ball by the Hawk defense on a clear attempt ended up in the pocket by Bryant. He would take advantage and tie the game up at four with 12:54 left in the period. Grier later regained the lead for the Hawks at the 8:21 mark, cutting towards the middle and catching a pass from Mullane then slinging a shot into the back of the net. Phillips brought the lead back to two for the Hawks two minutes later, streaking down the middle and scoring. Brian Gazard (Ashland, Mass.) later connected with Noah Ravas (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) with 11 seconds left in the third to build RWU's lead to three.

Brian Cumming (East Williston, N.Y.) helped keep the defensive pressure on the Colonels in the fourth quarter, forcing two turnovers within a minute of each other, the second of which leading to Grier's third goal of the game to make it 8-4 in the Hawks' favor. From there, the rout was on for Roger Williams, with Phillips and Mullane each logging a goal within a minute of one another to give the Hawks a 10-4 lead, their largest of the game to that point. Mullane's tally came off of an assist by Grier, which would be Grier's 200th career point, becoming the fifth Hawk in program history to accumulate 200 points.

Ravas and Mullane both scored the final goals of the game, as the Hawks outscored Curry 5-0 in the final quarter to put the punctuation on the contest.
