BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team faced its toughest opponent of the early conference season in Endicott College, but still managed to come away with a 6-3 win over the Gulls Saturday afternoon.
 
Hawk Highlights
Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) collected their eighth consecutive doubles win with an 8-# victory over Brennan Nick (Tolland, Conn.) and Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) at #1. At #3, Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) and Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) rallied from being down 2-7 for an 8-7 (7-5) win over Oliver Pope (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Julian Richtarich (Naples, Fla.). However, Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) and Janith Madhok (New Delhi, India) handed an 8-# loss to Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) at #3, Roger Williams' first doubles loss in conference play this season.
 
Despite the setback, RWU still managed to pick up their play in singles. Trevethan logged a 6-2, 6-4 win at #1 against Nick, with Schuck setting down Pope 6-1, 6-3 at #3. Schuck also helped extend the Hawks' lead with a 6-1, 6-2 result over Pope at #4. For the Gulls, Dinardo picked up one of Endicott's two singles wins, beating Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, while Rinkert defeated Glassman 4-6, 6-0, 7-6 (8-6) at #3 for the other win.
 
Tocco and Johnny Baldyga (Simsbury, Conn.) had the other two wins for Roger Williams, with Tocco downing Madhok (7-6 (7-3), 6-4 and Baldyga beating Richtarich 6-3, 6-4.
