How It Happened
After two quiet innings, the Hawks got the action going in the third.
Sydney Provencal (Cumberland, R.I.) reached on a fielder's choice before
Isabelle Rosado (Central Islip, N.Y.) would knock an infield single to give
Francesca Cioffi (Brewster, N.Y.) two baserunners to drive in. The ball would meet the bat as she would make it half way around the diamond while driving in the pair of runners, giving RWU the 2-0 lead.
Western New England threatened in the bottom of the fourth as a two-out infield single would bring home a base runner, cutting the Roger Williams lead in half, but it was the fifth inning where the Golden Bears would break things open. Amassing six hits, with half of them scoring, WNE would jump ahead to a 4-2 lead.
Three pop-up outs for the Hawks in the top of the sixth would leave just one inning remaining for a comeback. After the first four batters would reach base, including
Casey Uryga (Berlin, Conn.) being brought home after Cioffi was plunked with the bases loaded, the Hawks would succumb to the pitching, striking out swinging on the final two at bats, dropping game one 4-3.

How It Happened
Unlike game one, it was WNE jumping out to the early lead. A two-run homer from Kailey Carrano (West Haven, Conn.) in the first, would be followed up by the ultimate dinger from Alyssa Poisson (Chelmsford, Mass) to give the Golden Bears a 6-0 lead. Once again, the Hawks attempted to mount a comeback. A
Casey Uryga (Berlin, Conn.) single would bring home
Jamie Wells (Castle Rock, Colo.) before
Isabelle Rosado (Central Islip, N.Y.) would drive in three more to cut the WNE lead to two.
WNE would go on to score four more runs over the final two frames to close out the sweep over Roger Williams as the Hawks allowed ten or more runs for the fifth time this season.
