How It Happened
Roger Williams jumped out to a 1-0 lead on an RBI double by Taylor Howell (Sandwich Mass.) to bring home Sydney Provencal (Cumberland, R.I.). However, the game fell apart for the Hawks in the bottom of the inning, as Johnson & Wales tallied nine runs in the inning, posting six hits and clearing the bases on an error.

RWU made a bit of a rally in the following inning. Emma MacLean (Newton, Mass.) reached on an error at short, allowing Jamie Wells (Castle Rock, Colo.) to score. MacLean would later come around on an RBI single by Provencal. Then later, Howell posted her second run-scoring double of the game, plating Provencal and Casey Uryga (Berlin, Conn.).

The four-run deficit remained over the following two innings, but the Wildcats broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth, scoring four runs to end the game early. The clinching run came on an error at first.
