BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University field hockey team fell in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon on Bayside Field to Endicott, 5-0.
The Hawks were unable to overcome the offensive pressure from the Gulls, who outshot Roger Williams, 20-5.
Endicott broke through at the 9:34 into the contest when Meghan Lehouiller scored after being on the receiving end of a pass from Meaghan Hogan. The Gulls then struck again in the second quarter when Olivia Lampasona fired a shot off a rebounded shot from teammate Lily Farnham.
In the third quarter,
Jill Haudenshield (Sykesville, Md.) made back-to-back saves after Endicott fired a pair of shots coming out of a penalty corner.
In the final frame the Gulls struck three more times as they closed out the contest.
Roger Williams (4-1, 0-1 CCC) will face Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 4:30 pm in Willimantic, Conn. Before traveling to Springfield, Mass. on Saturday, Sept. 24 to take on the Golden Bears of Western New England. They will play Johnson & Wales at home on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
