BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's soccer team remained unbeaten on Sunday afternoon at Bayside Field, defeating UMass Dartmouth 3-0 in a non-conference men's soccer match.
Roger Williams put six shots on goal, while the Corsairs were unable to put a shot on net. The Hawks also earned a pair of corner kicks, to UMass Dartmouth's one.
After playing to a scoreless first half, Roger Williams broke through 1:45 into the second half when
Javi Beltran (Madrid, Spain) put a shot past Corsair goalkeeper. In the 70
th minute
Kyle LaPolt (East Hampton, Conn.) put a crossing pass that Beltran got a head on to strike again giving the Hawks a 2-0 lead.
Nearly, the Hawks struck one last time when
Liam Blaisdell (Plymouth, Mass.) scored at the 81:09 mark of the contest, closing out the scoring.
Roger Williams (5-0-2, 1-0-0 CCC) plays host to WPI on Tuesday, Sept. 20 on Bayside Field at 7 pm. They will then be visited by Gordon on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 12 pm.
