SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University field hockey team dropped a Commonwealth Coast Conference Contest Saturday evening at Western New England, falling to the Golden Bears, 4-1.
 
In the opening frame Taylor Klesyk scored at the 8:37 mark off of a pass from Haley he Golden Bears scored in the final minute of the first half, with 30 seconds remaining, when Sarah Johnston found the back of the net.
 
After a scoreless draw in the third quarter, Western New England went up 3-0 after a goal from Emily Campbell, but Kelly Doherty (Mansfield, Mass.) converted a shot off a pass from Elizabeth Duquette (Pittsford, N.Y.) with 3:57 remaining. The Golden Bears finished with a goal less than a minute later to close out the scoring.
 
Roger Williams (5-2, 0-2 CCC) will play host to Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 4 pm before traveling to Nichols for a CCC contest on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 pm.
