BELMONT, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team remained un defeated on the season and picked up a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win Wednesday against Suffolk.
In third singles
Izzy Pecora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) paired for a No. 3 doubles win, defeating their opponents 8-1.
Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) and
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) won their No. 1 doubles match and
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and
Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) followed suit, with both teams also winning by an 8-1 score.
Ferraro picked a point in No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory, before Cahoon defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles for the clinching point.
McCarthy earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 4 singles before Place followed in the top singles bout, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win. Santoro and Pecora then rounded out the match with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Roger Williams (9-0, 5-0 CCC) will take on UMass Boston on Thursday, Sept. 29 in a non-conference tilt on the RWU Tennis Courts before traveling to face Clark on Saturday, Oct. 1 to kick off the month.
