BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team gathered another victory on the season, defeating UMass Boston, 5-4, in non-conference play on the RWU Tennis Courts.
After winning No. 3 doubles with
Izzy Pecora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and
Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) 8-2, Roger Williams then rallied for four singles wins.
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) won her match 6-4, 6-7 at No. 2 singles, before
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) and
Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) clinched No. 3 and No. 4 singles with wins for the Hawks.
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) earned the clinching point at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 victory against her opponent in No. 6 singles.
Roger Williams (10-0, 5-0 CCC) Will face Clark on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 12 pm in Worcester, Mass. The Hawks will then host preseason favorite Endicott on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 4 pm.
