WORCESTER, Mass. - The Roger Williams University men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with WPI on Tuesday evening, setting a program record for draws in a season with six in the 0-0 tie.
The Hawks were out shot 17-12 in the match, being held to only a pair of shots on goal in the contest. Goalkeeper
Hogan Cain had seven saves in the match, keeping the blank sheet.
The scoreless first half saw the visiting Hawks with a pair of shots by
Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) and
Luke McCarthy (
Tolland, Conn.) in the opening 85 seconds with the hosts accounting for the rest of the 11 shots, including multiple attempts by Matthew Biando, Santino Bazzini, Aaron Vaz and Luke Savoie.Â

The second half saw Roger Williams step up the pressure, outshooting the hosts 10-6 after intermission.Â
CJ Sousa's (Fall River, Mass.) bid sailed high in the 56th minute and
Dylan Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) had three good looks, including a pair of shots following a corner kick in the 76th minute.
Roger Williams (2-3-6, 0-1-1 CCC) will play host to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Western New England on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 12:00 pm. The HAwks will then travel to face Wheaton on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2:00 pm.
