BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team faced off against Suffolk, picking up a 9-0 win on Friday in a home match.
In doubles play,
Adriana Palmieri (Southington, Conn.) and
Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) earned a point for the Hawks with a No. 2 doubles win, 8-1, and
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) paired up for a No. 1 doubles win, 8-0, assuring the Hawks a sweep in doubles.
In singles play, Roger Williams picked up a total of five wins, including the No. 5 victory by
Ella Mancini (Middlebury, Conn.), 6-0, 6-0, which clinched the match for the Hawks.
Roger Williams (9-3, 2-2 CCC) will travel to Springfield, Mass. on Monday, Oct. 9, to compete against divisional rival Western New England at 3:30 pm, before hosting Curry to close out their season on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
