AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Roger Williams University baseball team was defeated on Wednesday by Ithaca in non-conference play at the Russmat Invitational in Auburndale, Fla., 20-5.
 
After allowing a run in the first inning, the Hawks responded in the bottom half of the inning with a Jack Morin (North Andover, Mass.) single down the right field line that allowed Matt Massaro (Fairfield, Conn.) to score.  In the Third Ithaca added another run but the Hawks picked up a pair in the bottom frame with Aidan Hawley (Natick, Mass.) then singled bringing in Massaro and Matt Falvey (Walpole, Mass.) across, giving Roger Williams a 3-2 lead. 
 
The Bombers then rattled off nine runs in the top of the inning putting the game out of reach for the Hawks.
 
Roger Williams (1-5, 0-0 CCC) will face Rowan on Thursday, Mar. 16 at 6:30 pm.
