WENHAM, Mass.—The Roger Williams University men's tennis team surpassed Gordon in their away match on Thursday afternoon, winning against the Lions, 5-4.
In doubles play, duo
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) won in No. 1 doubles, 8-4. The team of
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) downed the Lions in No. 2 doubles, 8-5. In No. 3 doubles,
Johnny Baldyga (Simsbury, Conn.) and
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) fell to their Gordon opponents, 3-8.
In singles play, Carroll also came out on top, 6-3, 6-0. Baldyga went three sets in fourth singles, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2. Then, in number six singles,
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) came out on top, 6-3, 6-4.
Roger Williams (9-1, 3-0 CCC) will next face Western New England on Saturday, April 1 at 12 pm. They will then host Wentworth on Wednesday, April 5.
