BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University baseball team fell to in-state rival Johnson & Wales on Tuesday afternoon, 7-5, in a non-conference tilt on Paolino Field.
 
MarkAnthony Glickman (Newbury, Mass.) pitched three innings of relief ball, with six strikeouts, and allowing one walk in his 13 batters faced while giving up a pair of hits.  In the batter's box, Owen Hibbard (Roxbury, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and came across to score.  Mike Bogosian (Cranston, R.I.) went 2-for-3 in the box, with an RBI.
 
Matt Massaro (Fairfield, Conn.) brought in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly to right field, that brought in Matt Falvey (Walpole, Mass.) from third base. The Wildcats rallied scoring six runs in the top half of the third inning, before Roger Responded by adding a run in the bottom of the third with a single by Jack Morin (North Andover, Mass.).
 
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Hawks scored again with Hibbard hitting a shot through the left side of the infield, cutting the Johnson & Wales lead down to three. The Wildcats added another run in the top of the fifth, before Bogosian hit a ball up the middle, bringing in Massaro.
 
In the bottom of the sixth Hibbard brought in Christopher Flynn (Randolph, N.J.) with an RBI through the right side of the infield, closing out scoring for the contest.
 
Roger Williams (8-14, 7-1 CCC) will host Keene State on Wednesday, Apr. 12 at 3:30 pm before traveling to Rhode Island College on Thursday, Apr. 13 at 3:30 pm in Providence. The Hawks will then take on Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 15 beginning at 12 pm.
