BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University baseball team was able to hold back the offense of Keene State on Wednesday, 7-2, in non-conference action against the Owls on Paolino Field.
 
Lucas Lariviere (Cumberland, R.I.) took the mound for the Hawks, going seven innings of two hit ball with seven strikeouts and a walk. Matt Massaro (Fairfield, Conn.) drove in two runners with 4 hits in five at bats, with one run. Matt Falvey (Walpole, Mass.) also brought in a runner and Jack Morin (North Andover, Mass.) added two RBIs with both going 2-for-4.
 
In the bottom of the first when Massaro hit a double down the right field line, driving in Owen Hibbard (Roxbury, Conn.) for the first run of the game.  Keene State added a run in the top of the second to level the score before the Hawks added a pair on a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.
 
After tacking on two more runs in the fifth with Nick Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) bringing in the second run of the game with a single to right field, the Hawks added a run in the bottom of the sixth and eighth to close out scoring.
 
Roger Williams (9-14, 7-1 CCC) will take on Rhode Island College on Thursday, Apr. 13 at 3:30 pm.  The Hawks will then return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday, Apr. 15 at 12 pm for a doubleheader against Endicott.
