WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's lacrosse team defeated Gordon on Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Brigham Complex, 14-10.
Max Kimmel (Milford, Conn.) made 10 saves in net for a .500 save percentage.
Kevin Murphy (Ramsey, N.J.) added three goals and a pair of assists for five points, while
Matt Halpin (Hanover, Mass.) scored four goals in the win.
Noah Ravas (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and
Jack Kester (Londonderry, N.H.) each had a goal and a pair of assists.
Jordan Pivarnik (Trumbull, Conn.) went 15-26 in faceoffs picking up seven ground balls, Kester causing three turnovers with a ground ball.
Michael Bussinelli (Ridgewood, N.J.) had two caused turnovers with six ground balls.
After the Fighting Scots took a 2-0 lead,
Pehrson Szuluk (Avon, Conn.) and Kester combined to level the score. After trading goals, the Hawks trailed 4-3 before
Brian Gazard (Ashland, Mass.) and
Matt Halpin helped put the Hawks up by two. Gordon then leveled the score at 6-6 with six seconds remaining before the half.
Gordon jumped out to a 9-8 lead, before the Hawks rattled off six straight second half goals, to take the lead for good.
