MILTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University baseball team dropped a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) to Curry on Tuesday afternoon at the Jack Vallely Diamond, 9-3.
The Hawks turned to
Lucas Lariviere (Cumberland, R.I.) went six innings giving up five earned runs with 10 hits, and five strikeouts.
Jack Morin (North Andover, Mass.) had three hits with a run and an RBI.
London Camelo (Bristol, R.I.) went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk, while
Matt Massaro (Fairfield, Conn.) added a hit and an RBI.
The Hawks struck first with Massaro bringing in
Matt Falvey (Walpole, Mass.) with a sacrifice fly to center field. Morin then brought in in
Nick Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) on a double to right center field giving the Hawks a 2-0 lead after the top of the first.
After cutting the lead in half in the bottom of the second, the Colonels added another run in the fifth to level the score. Curry scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth as they took control of the game, 6-2.
The Colonels added three runs off a home run in the bottom of the seventh, before the Hawks added a run with a Camelo single to left center field.
Roger Williams (10-19, 7-5 CCC) will take on Eastern Connecticut State on Thursday, Apr. 27 for a doubleheader down in Willimantic, Conn. for a 2 pm tilt. The Hawks will then face Nichols for a Saturday, Apr. 29 CCC doubleheader at 11:30 am.
