BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University baseball team fell to #11 Wheaton on Monday afternoon on Paolino Field, 7-3.
The Hawks watched
Lucas Lariviere (Cumberland, R.I.) pitch 6.0 innings, giving up five earned runs and walking one, while striking out five.
Matt Falvey (Walpole, Mass.) and
London Camelo (Bristol, R.I.) each picked up a pair of hits and an RBI in the contest.
Wheaton struck twice in the opening frame, before Roger Williams responded with
Jack Morin (North Andover, Mass.) grounding out into an RBI. Camelo then came to bat and put a single through the left side of the infield to level the score at 2-2.
Wheaton then put up three runs in the third inning, before adding a run in the sixth off a home run. In the bottom half of the sixth a single by Falvey bringing in
Ethan Keeney (Harwich, Mass.).
The Lyons would then tack on a run in the top of the ninth to close things out.
Roger Williams (12-22, 8-6 CCC) will travel to UMass Dartmouth on Thursday, May 4 for a 3:30 pm matchup against the Corsairs. The Hawks will then close out the regular season on Saturday, May 6 against Gordon at 12 pm.
