Box Score DUDLEY, Mass.—The Roger Williams baseball team was passed over by Salve Regina on Thursday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason play, 24-1.
On the mound for the Hawks was
JT Gunzy (Danbury, Conn.) who pitched 3.0 innings, faced 18 batters, and had three ground outs.
James Nichols (Bridgewater, Mass.) pitched 2.0 innings to face 22 batters and strike out two.
Conor Gaughan (Walpole, Mass.) faced three batters, allowing one hit and one walk.
Tommy Turnbach (Brick, N.J.),
Brandon Csizmadia (Trumbull, Conn.), and
Zayvier Hartman (Clovis, N.M.) each pitched 1.0 innings.
At bat,
Mike Masino (Bayville, N.J.) recorded two hits, one of which was a double.
Alec Lavallee (Cumberland, R.I.) added two hits and one runner batted in.
Noah Hester (Old Saybrook, Conn.) had two walks.
The Seahawks began scoring in the bottom of the second. Masino singled out to third base, bringing Breen in to home. Salve Regina earned two more runs in the third inning, an incredible 13 runs in the fourth, and eight in the bottom of the fifth, giving the Seahawks a tremendous lead over Roger Williams, 24-0.
The Hawks lone run was scored in the top of the eighth. With one out, a hit to centerfield by Lavallee brought
Trevor Smith (Florham Park, N.J.) to home.
Roger Williams continues in CCC play on Friday, May 12, against Endicott. The time of the game is to be announced.
