BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team defeated Clark, 9-0, on Sunday at the RWU Tennis Courts for a win as the Hawks celebrated their seniors.
The Hawks celebrated seniors, Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) and Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.), along with recognizing the contributions of Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.).
The Hawks opened up doubles play with a win by Izzy Pecora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Ella Mancini (Middlebury, Conn.), 8-1, at No. 2 doubles. The Hawks then picked up the sweep of doubles with Santoro and Hardy taking their match, 8-3, before Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and Cahoon earned an 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles.
In singles action Cahoon took a win 6-1, 6-0 before Ferraro clinched the match, 6-0, 6-2. The Hawks then went on to sweep the rest of their matches for the clean sweep win.
Roger Williams (5-1, 0-0 CCC) will take on Nichols, Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 3:30 pm, before facing Bridgewater State, Thursday, Sept. 21.
