Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's soccer team fell to Johnson & Wales on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex, 1-0.
Roger Williams had 10 shots in the contest, with two shots on target, while Johnson & Wales put five shots on frame, with 12 total attempts.
John Fogarty (Scituate, Mass.) and Max Patenaude (Pepperell, Mass.) were responsible for the Hawks two shots on target, with Hogan Cain (Nottingham, N.H.) saving four shots in the five attempts faced.
With both teams playing evenly, the Wildcats were the first to break through with a goal from the top corner from outside of the box into the back of the net. After the goal by Conner Elliott, the Hawks went into the halftime break, 1-0.
In the second half, the Hawks had six shots to the Wildcats four, but it was not enough as Jacob Friedman, made a pair of saves, holding Roger Williams scoreless.
Roger Williams (2-2-3, 0-0-0 CCC) will face Curry on Saturday, Sept. 23 in a CCC contest on Walter M. Katz Field. The Hawks will then host Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 pm.
