MILTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's soccer team picked up their fourth draw in their first eight matches, against Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, at Walter M. Katz Field, 1-1.
The Hawks dominated play, with 20 shots in the match, with six shots being within the frame of the goal. Curry made five saves on the six shots on goal, with Roger being edged out 6-4 in corner kicks.
Jack Avellar (Orleans, Mass.) had a save in the contest, with
Jason Salley (Durham, Conn.) putting a pair of shots on target with three total attempts.
Liam Blaisdell (Plymouth, Mass.) had the goal for the Hawks scoring on one of his four shot attempts with
Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) registering the assist.
Curry was the first team on the scoreboard, with Adam Pforr finding Giovanni Martins, for his second goal of the season. The Hawks struck 7:22 later, with Blaisdell firing a pass from Thomas into the back of the net to level the score, 1-1.
The Hawks had 13 shot attempts in the first half with seven in the second, while holding Curry to one in each half in the draw.
Roger Williams (2-2-4, 0-0-1 CCC) will host Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 pm on Bayside Field. The Hawks will then travel to Endicott on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12:00 pm.
