BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University field hockey team came out of Senior Night with a 6-2 victory over their in-state rival Salve Regina, in a non-conference contest on Bayside Field.
Before the game the Hawks recognized eight of their upcoming graduates in a Senior Night ceremony.

Jill Haudenshield (Sykesville, Md.) were celebrated.
The Hawks out shot the Seahawks, 23-10, placing 15 of their attempts on cage to Salve Regina's six. Roger Williams also led in penalty corners 9-4 in the matchup.
In goal, Haudenshield made four saves, while Bryn Protheroe backstopped Salve Regina with nine saves.
Offensively,
Maddy Monahan (Bristol, N.H.) and
Hannah Timbrouck (Kingston, N.Y.) each scored a pair of goals while dishing out an assist, with
Chelsea King (Schenectady, N.Y.) and
Grace Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.) adding a goal and an assist each. Salve saw goals scored by Angelina Regels and Kira Spedden, with an assist by Carly King.
Salve Regina struck first, with Regels scoring 3:11 into the match. The Hawks did not wait long to respond with King finding Timbrouck in front of the net. To level the match. Just under four minutes later, King scored her lone goal of the contest, with Monahan crossing the ball in front of the net for a tip by King. Tha Hawks took a 3-1 lead in the first, after Monahan took the ball to the net herself, scoring a goal with 1:40 remaining in the first quarter.
After halftime, Timbrouck struck for a second time 1:35 into the second half with Rocheleau crossing a ball across the goal frame. Rocheleau then scored her goal with a helper from Timbrouck to put the Hawks up 5-1 heading into the final quarter of action. Monahan added a goal just under five minutes into the fourth quarter, and Salve Scored in the final minute of play to put the score, 6-2.
Roger Williams (10-5, 2-1 CNE) will travel to Nichols on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 pm, before hosting Connecticut Colleg eon Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7:00 pm.
