Women’s Tennis: No. 4 Roger Williams Falls to No. 1 Nichols in CNE Semi-Finals

DUDLEY, MASS. – The Roger Williams women's tennis team fell to Nichols College, the tournament one seed, 4-0 on Thursday afternoon.
 
In #1 singles, Helton Kamora defeated Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) (6-0, 6-1), securing the first point for the Bison. Nichols grabbed another point in #2 singles, as Carrero Anotonia defeated Izzy Pecora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) (6-2, 6-0). Lastly, it was Cora Brosh who grabbed the third point in singles for Nichols, as she defeated Hawks #6 Gabrielle Petroniro (Woltcott, Conn.), (6-0, 6-2).
 
In #1 doubles, Giannia Ferraro and Valentina Abarca (Riobamba, Ecuador) were downed by Kamora Helton and Pamela Gonzalez, 6-3. For #2 doubles, Izzy Pecora and Ella Mancini (Middlebury, Conn.) fell to Anotonia Carrero and Johanna Schroader, 6-3 once again. These points by the Bison decided the match, giving Nichols College the win 4-0, allowing them to advance to the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship.
 
Roger Williams finished the season 12-4 (4-2 CNE), reaching the conference semifinal for the 20th straight season, and 10th time under Barry Gorman.
