BRISTOL, R.I.- The Roger Williams University women's soccer team hosted Curry at home on Bayside Field in the last game of regular season play, defeating them 2-0.
 
The Hawks had a total of nine shots throughout the match, placing seven of those on the frame. Curry on the other hand had 13 shots throughout the game, landing only six of them on goal. As for corner-kicks, both teams had only three corner-kick opportunities in the match.
 
In the first half, the Hawks had five of their shots, one of which, in the 10th minute resulted in a goal by senior Rachel Oster (Scituate, R.I.) after a cross from Casey Donnelly (Norwalk, Conn.) was mis-cleared by the Curry defense leaving Oster wide open to take the shot. The Hawks had several more opportunities throughout the second half but struggled to get them on frame and past the Curry goalkeeper.
 
As for the second half of play, the Hawks had a handful of scoring opportunities having four shots at goal during this time. However, sophomore Sarah Fogarty (Scituate, Mass.) found Oster again on a through ball around half field that led her on a solo run to goal, resulting in the Hawk's second goal of the match.
 
Defensively this match, goalkeeper Coco Marrelli (Fairfield, Conn.) played the full 90 minutes for the Hawks, making six saves throughout the duration of the game.
 
The Roger Williams women's soccer team (9-4-6, 3-2-4 CNE) has closed out their play for the 2024 regular season and will now advance on to the CNE First Round this Saturday, Nov 2nd.
