BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team will match up against No. 2 Wentworth on Thursday, in a Conference of New England (CNE) Semifinal Match.
The Hawks enter the match with a 17-11 record while posting a 6-3 record in the regular season. For the Leopards, the Leopards went 17-10 and 7-2 CNE record on the season. The Leopards have posted a 13-2 record at home during the season, while Roger Williams has been 4-4 on the road.
Roger Williams enters the match, led by
Brianna Picchietti (Batavia, Ill.)who has tallied 2.90 kills per set with 281 sets.
Angela West (Riverview, Fla.) ranks second on the squad with 226 kills, averaging 2.24 per set.
Ava Mattiucci (North Kingstown, R.I.) and
Emma Bosco (North Andover, Mass.) have been the primary setters for the Hawks this season with Mattiucci averaging 6.76 assists per set while Bosco has averaged 2.31.
On the defensive end, the Hawks will look to libero,
Marianna Hernandez (Norwalk, Conn.) who led the conference in digs per set this season with 4.87. Hernandez is followed in the category by
Kaylee Jackson (Naugatuck, Conn.)
. West and
Peyton Felix (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) are the two top blockers for the Hawks with 90 and 62 blocks on the season.
For Wentworth, Kate McLande averages 3.63 kills per set, with Emma Sanders averaging 2.97 kills per set, ranking first and second respectively on the squad. Olivia Vaughn and Gianna Cefalu have 640 and 237 assists respectively to lead the category. Amanda Zweifler leads in digs with 342 on the year, averaging 3.60 per set, while Riley Schoonmaker, Sanders, and Clairissa Taylor are the top three blockers for the Leopards, with 54, 43, and 40 respectivley.
NSN will stream the match, and the winner will advance to the CNE Championship against the winner of No. 1 Endicott and No. 5 Western New England.
