BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Director of Athletics, Intramurals, and Recreation Kiki Jacobs has announced the appointment of James Ebzery as the First Head Coach of the RWU Women's Golf Program.
"I am incredibly excited and honored to be named the first head coach of the Women's Golf program at RWU," spoke Ebzery. "Having had the privilege to serve as the assistant coach for the men's program, I've seen firsthand the dedication, passion, and potential that RWU student-athletes bring to the course. This new opportunity is a tremendous one to build something special from thee ground up. I look forward to growing the program and seeing our student-athletes excel both on the course and in the classroom. It's an exciting time for RWU Women's Golf and I can't wait to get started!"
Eberzy has worked in Golf for a decade, beginning his career at Foxfire Country Club as an Assistant Golf Professional. He has worked nationwide, holding roles at Baltimore Country Club, Farm Neck Golf Club Desert Willow Golf Resort, and most recently at The Aquidneck Club.
As an assistant coach for the men's golf team, Ebzery has helped coach the team to a pair of conference titles alongside Head Coach Ed Kirby, breaking a 21 year drought between conference titles. He also helped to coach the Hawks to their second consecutive title in 2024.
"We are excited to introduce James as the inaugural Women's Golf Head Coach. He is excited and energetic and ready to get this program off the ground and establish it as a program that can compete at both the regional and national level," said Jacobs.
A Class A Member of the PGA of America, Ebzery was a walk-on for the Babson Ice Hockey Team during the 2009-10 season. Ebzery graduated in 2013 from Babson with degree in business management.
