BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University softball team split on Sunday afternoon with Wentworth, defeating the Leopards 5-1 in game one, before dropping game two, 5-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play.
In game one, 
Raegen Germano pitched a complete game allowing only one run, with six hits and four walks with three strikeouts. 
Jaime Wells and 
Kayleigh O'Connor each had a pair of RBIs with O'Connor tallying three hits. 
Hailey William also had three hits on the game.
The Leopards were the first to score in the contest, with Kyla Igawa hitting a home run over the left field fence. The Hawks then responded in the bottom of the inning, with 
Taylor Howell hitting a single through the left side of the infield bringing across Williams to level the score. Wells followed with a single up the middle, allowing 
Shannon Starratt to score. O'Connor then doubled down the right field line bringing in two to take a 4-1 lead after the first.
The Hawks added a fifth run with Wells putting a single through the left side to bring in Starratt from third in the bottom half of the third inning.
The Hawks then shut the Leopards down throughout the rest of the game.
In game two, Jess Rowe picked up the win going 7 innings, holding the Hawks to no earned runs. 
Natalie Lundari picked up the loss in the matchup Williams and 
Caroline Thomas added hits in the contest.   
The Leopards started the contest with a run in the first coming off a ground out before adding three more in the in the second, while the tacking on one in the top of the third inning, taking a 5-0 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Hawks added two in the seventh with Fraser and 
Christina Denovellis coming around to score but the Hawks fell in game two.
Roger Williams (11-13, 2-6 CCC) will host Mitchell for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, Apr. 16., before taking on Gordon in Wenham on Saturday, Apr. 20.
