Men's Soccer: Hawks Suffer Second Defeat at Babson

Box Score Wellesley, Mass. – The Roger Williams men's soccer team fell to Babson College 2-1 on Tuesday, Sep. 17.
 
In a 2-1 battle, the Hawks picked up their second loss of the season to the Beavers on the road, leaving them with a 4-2-1 record.
 
Hawks goalkeeper Hogan Cain (Nottingham, N.H.) did what he could early on, tallying two quick saves, however at the 29 minute mark, the Beavers were awarded a penalty kick. Babson junior Joao Araujo cashed in, giving the Beavers a 1-0 lead. Just 27 seconds later, Roger Williams sophomore Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) netted his first goal of the season on a ball from grad student Andres Caceres (Ossining, N.Y.) to even up the match. The two squads would play even for the next 45 minutes, until James Modiano put away the go-ahead goal with 15 minutes remaining securing the victory for the Beavers.
 
Individually, Dylan Thomas was the highlight for the Hawks, as he dropped in the lone goal from captains Andre Caceres and Jack Wildermann (Madison, Conn.). Hogan Cain recorded five saves on the game.
 
Roger Williams (4-2-1) will travel to Western New England University on Saturday, Sep. 21 at 2:30 for their next matchup. As for Babson (3-0-3), they will head to WPI on Saturday, Sep. 21 at 1:00 PM.
