BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team dropped their first match of the 2025 season on Saturday afternoon to Hartford on Homecoming and Family Weekend, 3-0.

Prior to the match RWU celebrated eight members of the squad who are completing their degrees this year. Tommy Bowen (Manchester, Mass.), Max Patenaude (Pepperell, Mass.), Liam Blaisdell (Plymouth, Mass.), Jorge Beltran (Madrid, Spain), Will Schiffer (Cotuit, Mass.), Murphy Malone (Cheshire, Conn.), Liam Jones (Bethesda, Md.), and Liam Farrell (Watertown, Conn.).

Eliot Panaccione (Pepperell, Mass.) made three saves, while Hartford's Ryan Lunn made four in the match. Roger Williams had 12 shots, putting four on target in the match, while Hartford recorded eight shots with six landing on target. The Hawks of RWU had five corner kicks while holding Hartford without one.

Hartford took advantage early with Ron Palilo tallying the first goal of the game 9:00 into the first half, with Austin Murawski heading along a pass from Palilo, that Palilo then fired into the net. Just under 2:30 later, Murawski then tallied a goal of his own.

In the second half, Kyle Theobald scored off a helper of Murawski who tallied his fourth point of the game.

Hartford (7-5-2, 3-3-1 CNE) will host Nichols on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:00 pm, ahed of a road match at Wentworth on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Roger Williams (10-1-4, 5-1-1 CNE) will host Gordon on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7:00 pm before traveling to Nichols on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 12:00 pm.
