BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team put together its strongest offensive performance of the season on Saturday afternoon, powering past Framingham State, 93–62, inside the Campus Recreation Center. The Hawks shot 45 percent from the floor, knocked down 19 three-pointers, and saw four players score in double figures in a victory that moved them to 2–3 on the year.
RWU exploded out of the gate, using hot perimeter shooting and transition offense to build an early double-digit lead. The Hawks knocked down seven threes in the opening half and entered the break ahead 41–29. That pace only accelerated in the second frame as Roger Williams poured in 52 points on 57 percent shooting from deep, stretching the lead past 20 and controlling the tempo for the remainder of the game.
Ashton Leclerc (Gorham, Maine) delivered a breakout performance off the bench, scoring a team-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including five three-pointers. Ryan Hammarlund (Southington, Conn.) added 14 points with three steals, while Philip Sughrue (Winchester, Mass.) supplied 10 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Finn Miller (Stamford, Conn.) posted one of the most well-rounded stat lines of the day, finishing with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and a game-high 10 assists for a triple-double. Ty Higgins (New Marlborough, Mass.) and Joey Dwyer (Pembroke, Mass.) each added six points, and the Hawks' bench combined for 46 points in a dominant effort.
Roger Williams also excelled defensively, forcing 17 Framingham State turnovers and turning them into 19 points on the other end. The Hawks generated 23 fast-break points and 21 second-chance points, using their energy and depth to wear down the Rams throughout the contest.
Framingham State was led by Fallou Koite, who scored 18 points and went 10-for-12 from the free throw line. Isiah Alexander added 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Domonick Victor finished with seven points and six rebounds. Despite shooting 75 percent from the line, the Rams struggled from the field, hitting only 35 percent of their attempts and going 4-of-15 from beyond the arc.
With the convincing 93–62 win, the Hawks showcased their offensive firepower, defensive intensity, and bench strength—setting a strong tone moving forward. RWU's next game will be at Anna Maria, Monday, at 4:00 PM.
