FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southern New Hampshire erupted for four goals in the third period to defeat Roger Williams University, 6–3, on Wednesday night at Driscoll Arena. The Hawks twice held one-goal leads, but the Penmen capitalized on special teams and sustained offensive pressure to pull away in the final frame.
Roger Williams was outshot 45–29 and went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Southern New Hampshire finished 3-for-5 with the man advantage. SNHU also held the edge in faceoffs, 40–37, and generated 18 third-period shots. RWU posted 10 blocked shots to SNHU's 14 but conceded three power-play goals over the final 25 minutes.
Aidan Radic (Castle Rock, Colo.) opened the scoring and finished with a goal and an assist, leading the Hawks with seven shots. PJ Sweeney (Chamonix, France) also produced a goal and an assist. Cooper St. Hilaire (Lewiston, Maine) added a third-period goal and blocked two shots, while Daxton St. Hilaire (Lewiston, Maine) served as a key facilitator with two assists and a team-high 14 faceoff wins. In goal, Niko Charles (Sunnyvale, Calif.) had a 39-save performance against heavy SNHU pressure.
Southern New Hampshire's Aidan Rufa scored twice, one at even strength and one on the power play, to pace the Penmen attack. Kenny Thurston contributed a goal and an assist and delivered the eventual game-winner on the power play early in the third. Zach Vickerman added a goal and two assists while contributing in all situations, and Brendan Lynch chipped in a goal and 12 faceoff wins to help tilt possession toward SNHU. Goaltender Tren Boryszczuk earned the win with 26 saves.
The scoring opened at 12:15 of the first period, when Radic finished a feed from Daxton St. Hilaire and Sweeney to give RWU a 1–0 lead. SNHU answered with 20 seconds left in the frame as Lynch intercepted a clearing attempt and scored unassisted to send the game into the break tied 1–1. Sweeney then restored the Hawks' lead at 3:37 of the second, but Rufa pulled the Penmen even on a power play at 15:34. The decisive momentum shift came early in the third period when Ryan Pomposelli put SNHU ahead at 2:43, Thurston extended the advantage with his power-play tally at 6:32, and Rufa struck again less than a minute later to make it 5–2. Cooper St. Hilaire cut the margin to two goals at 16:03, but Vickerman sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 18:29.
Roger Williams (3-8-0, 2-5-0 CNE) will be off until Saturday, Jan. 3 when they open up 2026 at Framingham State for an 8:50 pm matchup. The Hawks will then host Suffolk on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 6:00 pm in Driscoll Arena ahead of a home-and-home CNE series against Curry.
