BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team saw four members of the squad named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Emma Bosco (North Andover, Mass.),
Brianna Picchietti (Batavia, Ill.),
Peyton Felix (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), and
Kaylee Jackson received the honor for the Hawks. In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, while competing in 90 percent of the team's matches or start in 66 percent of their matches.
Bosco an accounting major, finished the season appearing in 22 matches, with 83 total sets, averaging 8.87 assists per set for a total of 653. Bosco surpassed the 1000 career assist mark, completing her collegiate career with 1103 in her lone season as the primary starter.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, Picchietti posted a 2.55 kills per set average in 25 matches, with 73 set appearances. Picchietti hit .201 on the season, with 186 total kills on the year.
Felix, an Architecture major, completed her junior season with 187 kills and a total of 81 blocks on the year. The opposite hitter, ranked second on the team in blocks per set with 0.84 per set, while also sitting third in kills per set with 1.95.
Rounding out the honorees was Jackson. The Elementary Education major appeared in 97 sets on the season, surpassing 1,000 career digs in the process. While collecting 2.33 kills per set through 26 matches, while being the primary attack option, hitting 0.142.
