Men's Basketball: Hawks Surge Past Curry, 99-84.

MILTON, MASS. – The Roger Williams Men's Basketball team traveled up to face off against Curry College on Saturday, defeating them 99-84.

To begin the matchup, the Hawks maintained a lead for the majority of the first half. They then entered halftime with a 46-36 lead, powered by a balanced scoring attack and an efficient shooting performance. Roger Williams shot 48.1% from the field, slightly edging Curry's 47.1%. Both teams were evenly matched in shooting efficiency, but the Hawks capitalized on their opportunities, particularly in the paint, where they scored 42 points compared to Curry's 34.

Graduate student Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) delivered a solid performance, leading all scorers with 32 points on an impressive 12-of-16 shooting, including 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. His dominant display set the tone for Roger Williams, as he also contributed four rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes. Ryan Higgins (Boston, Mass.) supported the Hawks' effort with 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while senior Nate Mullen (Cape Elizabeth, Maine.) added 16 points, including a three-pointer late in the second half.

For Curry College, Jaiden Mann put up a valiant effort, finishing as the Colonels' top scorer with 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Mann added five rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes but lacked the same level of support from his teammates. Francisco Lopez chipped in 10 points, while Jeremiah Predin contributed 13 points, including three triples. Despite their strong second-half surge, outscoring the Hawks 48-53, Curry couldn't overcome their early deficit.

The Hawks dominated several key statistical categories, including fast-break points (29-4) and second-chance points (21-7), showcasing their hustle and efficiency. They also controlled the boards with a 47-34 rebounding advantage, limiting Curry's offensive opportunities.

Roger Williams (14-7, 9-5 CNE) will look to build on this win as they continue on to host Hartford at home on Tuesday, February 11th at 7:30 pm.
