Men's Tennis: Hawks Push Winning Streak to 12, Down Gulls in CNE Action

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team continued its dominant season with a 6-1 victory over Endicott College on Wednesday afternoon at the RWU Tennis Courts. With the win, the Hawks extended their dual match winning streak to 12. 

Roger Williams swept in doubles play, as the duo of Bronson DeSisto and Ryan Caroll earned a commanding 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Tucker Taylor and Iker Rodriguez Alcocer claimed a 6-4 victory at No. 3. Camden Poitras and Will Hurlbut secured the sweep with a narrow 7-6 (7-5) triumph at the No. 2 doubles spot against Antonio Marsallo and Conrad Kadel.

In singles play, the Hawks maintained their momentum, clinching five of six matches. Hurlbut started the run with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles, followed by Johnny Baldyga's 6-0, 6-3 victory over Aaron Terpko at No. 5. Poitras and Taylor each delivered straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while Caroll outlasted George Danes at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.

The lone win for Endicott (3-6, 1-2 CNE) came at No. 1 singles, where Kadel edged DeSisto in a hard-fought match, 6-1, 6-7 (8-6), 10-8.

Roger Williams (12-1, 3-1 CNE) will play host to Colby-Sawyer on Friday, Apr. 4 at 4:00 pm, before they are scheduled to host Curry on Saturday, Apr. 5 at 12:00 pm.  The Hawks will open the following week on Tuesday, Apr. 8 with a 4:00 pm match against Suffolk.
