BOSTON, M.A. - The Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team was able to outlast the Emerson College Lions on Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field, 1-0.

The Hawks and Lions each saw four-plus saves from their respective goalkeepers, with the defensive side of the field being able to be stout throughout the entire day. 

After a strong first half that saw both teams' defensive sides dominate with the back line, RWU struck in the 63^rd minute. A ball was sent into the box from the midfield of the Hawks, and after bouncing around defenders, it received a touch from Max Patenaude (Pepperrell, Mass.) as it redirected into the goal.

Roger Williams (1-0, 0-0 CNE) will host Rhode Island College for a non-conference game on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6:00 pm. The Hawks will then travel to Endicott on Friday, Sept. 5, at 4:00 pm in their Conference of New England (CNE)  opener.
