MILTON, Mass. — The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team delivered a dominant defensive performance on Tuesday evening, rolling past Curry College, 58–29, in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Katz Gymnasium. The Hawks controlled the game from the opening tip, holding Curry to just 29 points and improving to 7–6 overall and 4–1 in CNE play.
Roger Williams set the tone early, building a 14–10 lead after the first quarter before tightening defensively in the second. The Hawks limited Curry to just five points in the second frame and entered halftime with a 29–15 advantage. RWU forced turnovers at every level and consistently turned defense into offense, generating transition opportunities and controlling the paint.

Roger Williams finished the game with 26 points off turnovers and held Curry to 20.9 percent shooting from the field, including just 2-of-18 from three-point range. RWU also dominated the glass, out rebounding the Colonels 44–30 and limiting second-chance opportunities throughout the night.
Sakoya Sweeney (Craftsbury, Vt.) led all scorers with 13 points while adding seven rebounds and three steals. Ava Azzaro (Northampton, Mass.) followed with 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the free-throw line, while Maia Riccio (Cranston, R.I) contributed nine points on efficient shooting. Cara Murphy (Springfield, Mass.) added eight points as the Hawks' balanced scoring attack continued to wear down Curry's defense.
