HARTFORD, Conn. — The Roger Williams University women's cross country team is set to close out its regular-season campaign this Saturday, October 31, as the Hawks travel to Keney Park in Hartford, Conn., for the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship, hosted by the University of Hartford.

The Hawks enter the postseason following a fall season highlighted by a pair of sixth-place team finishes. Roger Williams opened its campaign at the University of Hartford Invitational on September 12, placing sixth among 10 teams with 143 points. The Hawks later matched that result at the James Earley Invitational on October 10, finishing sixth out of 15 teams with 186 points.

Carnevale, Sitzer Lead the Way for the Hawks

Graduate student Gabriella Carnevale (Jamestown, R.I.) and junior captain Gabriella Sitzer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) have helped lead the Hawks throughout the season, providing leadership and consistency as the team prepares for the conference championship.

The Hawks have also received contributions from Taylor Maluk (Newport, R.I.), Maddy Koon (Albany, N.Y.), and Bre Killion (Rochester, Mass.), who have helped support the team's efforts throughout the fall.

Looking Ahead to the CNE Championship

Roger Williams will now turn its attention to the CNE Championship, where the Hawks will look to build on their performances throughout the season and finish the fall with a strong team showing. With a group of experienced runners leading the way, the Hawks will look to put together a complete performance against the conference field.
