HEBRON, Conn. — Reid Ohanesian (Shirley, Mass.) finished second individually to lead the Roger Williams University men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the 2026 Conference of New England Championship, which concluded Sunday at Blackledge Country Club's Gilead Highlands course.
The Hawks finished with a two-round total of 595 (+19), following Saturday's 296 (+8) with a 299 (+11) on Sunday. Hartford captured the championship with a 579 (+3), while Western New England and Endicott tied for third at 604 (+28), nine strokes behind Roger Williams.
Ohanesian completed the tournament at 144 (E), pairing an opening-round 69 (-3) with a 75 (+3) on the par-72, 6,537-yard course. He finished five strokes behind individual champion Justin Crossen of Hartford, who shot a 139 (-5). Ohanesian's opening round featured four birdies, including three consecutive birdies on Nos. 5, 6 and 7.
Sammy Johnson (West Springfield, Mass.) led the Hawks in the final round with a 72 (E), improving five strokes from Saturday. Johnson finished tied for 11th with a 149 (+5).
Max St. Aubin (Brewster, Mass.) carded matching rounds of 75 (+3) to finish tied for 13th at 150 (+6), giving Roger Williams three golfers among the top 13.
Chris Locke (Marblehead, Mass.) finished tied for 21st with a 155 (+11), following an opening-round 75 (+3) with an 80 (+8).
Josh Peterson (Goffstown, N.H.) improved by 12 strokes on Sunday, shooting a 77 (+5) after opening with an 89 (+17). His final round contributed to the Hawks' team score as he finished tied for 39th at 166 (+22).
