BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team is set to open their season on Wednesday, Feb. 18. At 4:00 pm at Salve Regina. The Hawks are looking to build on last season, going 9-9 overall and 5-3 in Conference of New England (CNE) play.
RWU is entering their fourth year under Head Coach Kevin Gould, who has compiled a 31-22 overall record with a 15-9 record in CNE action. He is joined by Luke Bernasconi '20, Elias Elcock, and Devin Callahan.
The Hawks will return their starting goalkeeper Aaron D'Aversa (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) who took all 18 starts last season, playing 985:47 in the net. A senior, D'Aversa posted a 10.10 goals against average and collected 179 saves in 2025. Back on the field for the Hawks is junior Brady Lee (Mattapoisett, Mass.) who appeared in 15 games and collected 17 goals and eight assists. On the defensive side, senior Kyle Zirn (Chester, N.H.) returns, who holds the program record in caused turnovers.
The Hawks were halted in the first round of the CNE tournament last year, falling to No. 5 Western New England 16-10.
After the season opens at Salve Regina, Roger Williams will host their home opener against Wheaton on Saturday, Feb. 21.
RWU will open CNE action on Wednesday, Mar. 25 against Gordon on Bayside Field. After rounding out the regular season against Johnson and Wales on Wednesday, Apr. 22, the CNE Tournament will begin on Saturday, Apr. 25 with the First Round. The CNE Semifinals will be held on Wednesday, Apr. 29 and the CNE Championship will be on Saturday, May 2.
